A break from blogging

So  I’ve had a bit of a break from blogging the last few months. I’ve really missed it and feel there are so many things I have missed recording about my little monkey’s.

To re-cap I have two little boys Jack (2.5 yrs) and Michael (1.5 yrs) and write about all the trials and tribulations of being their mummy. Since I stopped blogging things have changed quite a lot, I am now expect a baby GIRL!

I will talk about my pregnancy more in upcoming posts but I’m still in shock it is a girl!

I just wanted to write a quick post about why I haven’t been blogging for a while, there has been no major reason other than life just getting in the way.

So now I have my 2yr old, 1 yr old, 20 weeks Pregnancy and my wedding in 8 weeks! Safe to say I have plenty to write about…..

What’s that I hear you say? Motherhood is…easy?!

Motherhood is easy…

All babies do is eat, sleep & poop, so what! You have a few sleepless nights, like we haven’t all had a few sleepless nights as youngsters!

Why do you have to argue with them when they clear the shelves in a supermarket?

Why didn’t you manage to wear make up or brush your hair today?

Why should spending time away from them be a problem…I mean come on! It’s only one night!

Get them into a routine and BAM! You’ve got it sorted….

Sorry but the next statement deserves to be bold and in capitals:

If you haven’t realised yet, my above paragraph is not only wrong but has a tinge of sarcasm, just to top it off.

I normally sit on the fence and look at both sides when exploring a controversial subject,

but when people (not all people…but some people) who have NOT, I repeat have NOT been full time carer for a child (when I say full time carer I mean 24/7, not like a job where you have a clocking off time) tell me how easy it is, my blood literally BOILS!

I’m not saying other jobs or responsibilities in life are not hard and I’m not even saying being a mother is the hardest job in the world (because I’m sure there’ll be someone with a unique story out there to prove me wrong) but to call it EASY?????

Noooooo, absolutely no way on this earth can motherhood be described as easy, don’t get me wrong I love my Children, they are my world, they are the reason I wake up each morning with a smile on my face, I cry and I laugh with them, I look at them with pride and can’t believe I created two humans so amazing, but one word I would not use to describe them…is easy!

So please, please if you are a bystander watching a mother fight with her child in the supermarket or you judge a mother for not wearing make up or having not put a brush through her hair that day, just remember, sometimes being a mother….IT’S HARD!
